Prosecutors say a Pennsylvania man shot his stepfather in a car as they and another man were headed home from a trip, then dumped the body on a central New Jersey roadway.
Middlesex County prosecutors announced Monday that 21-year-old Julio Ramos is charged with murder and weapons offenses in the slaying of 39-year-old Damon Cruz. A passer-by found the body around 6:30 a.m. Saturday in Piscataway, and Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The car's owner, 20-year-old Jerry Burk, is charged with hindering the investigation by allegedly dumping the body. He's also charged with tampering with evidence for allegedly cleaning his car after the shooting occurred,
All three men are from Allentown.
It's not known if Burk or Ramos have retained attorneys.
