A coroner has ruled homicide in the death of a northeastern Pennsylvania police officer who jumped a fence and fell 15 feet while chasing robbery suspects.
Lackawanna County Coroner Tim Rowland said Monday that Scranton Patrolman John Wilding died as the result of blunt force head trauma.
Rowland said the chase involving felony suspects early Saturday factored into his homicide determination.
Authorities planned to file additional charges against three teens charged in the robbery that led to the 29-year-old Wilding's death.
The teens are already charged with robbery, weapons possession and terroristic threats.
The 17-year-old suspects, Tanner Curtis and Nasiir Sheldon Jones of Scranton, and Malik Edwards, who is listed as homeless, have already been charged as adults with the other crimes.
Online court records don't list lawyers for them.
