HS Coach Had Sex With Student, 16: Police

An assistant football and track coach faces sex charges after allegedly carrying on an illicit relationship with a 16-year-old girl he coached in eastern Pennsylvania.

Thirty-one-year-old Benjamin Stopper was charged Friday with institutional sexual assault and corruption of minors stemming from an alleged affair with the Conrad Weiser High School student.

Investigators say Stopper began the relationship with the girl in May, while his wife was pregnant with their now-2-month-old child. He was arrested after police say the girl's father returned home unexpectedly and called police.

Police say the victim told them she'd had sexual contact with Stopper at least 20 times and also accompanied him on a business trip to Philadelphia.

Stopper is being held $20,000 bail. Court records don't list an attorney for him.
