A fire broke out in a Northampton County fire department building Sunday.
The four-alarm blaze began inside the Walnutport Fire Department’s social hall, once known as the Diamond Fire Company Building, on the 200 block of Washington Street in Walnutport around noon.
Firefighters from Northampton, Lehigh and Carbon counties were all called to the scene. Heavy winds caused the flames to spread and made it difficult for the responders to put out the blaze.
The fire was finally placed under control around 2:50 p.m. No one was injured.
Officials continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
