A dirt bike rider was killed and a woman was seriously hurt during an accident in the Mayfair section of the city Monday.
The dirt bike and an SUV collided at Cottman Avenue and Hawthorne Street around 4:05 p.m. Police said the rider of the dirt bike, a 19-year-old man, died from his injuries. He has not yet been identified.
A woman who was a passenger inside the SUV was also hurt and is currently in serious condition.
Dirt bikes are illegal on Philadelphia streets.
