A Delaware County pizza deliveryman says he's lucky to be alive. He tells NBC10 he was beaten by three men, who stole his money then took off in his car, leading police on a high-speed chase.
"I can't see very well. My vision is blurry" he said.
It happened while he was making a delivery on Jackson Avenue in Collingdale on Tuesday night.
The victim, who works for Femi's Pizza in Darby Township and doesn't want to be identified, said he wasn't sure robbery was the motive.
"They started to beat me with no question. They didn't demand anything. Until I said to them 'take the money' they were beating me up" he said.
The suspects stole 170-dollars and his car. The ensuing police chase ended after they crashed the vehicle off I-95 in Chester.
Two of the suspects, Charles Meriweather and Janei Wells, were arrested Wednesday. The third, Gustavis Gramling, turned himself in on Friday. All are 18 and facing charges that include attempted homicide.
The owner of the pizza shop tells NBC10 the men were regular customers.
"These guys, actuallthey almost got one of my other drivers, but he's lucky he got away, got in the car and took off" said Ender Gorgulugil.
