A New Jersey man convicted of killing a woman and stabbing her daughter has been sentenced to 60 years in prison.
Twenty-eight-year-old Gilberto Villanueva, of Camden, was sentenced Friday by Superior Court Judge Daniel Bernardin.
He was convicted in October in the death of 50-year-old Suzanne Durocher and the stabbing of her then 22-year-old daughter, Kristen Durocher, in Merchantville in November 2013.
Kristen Durocher had ended a relationship with Villanueva two weeks before the attack and told him not to come to her home. She survived the stabbing and testified against him at the trial.
Villanueva became a suspect after he sought treatment at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for hand injuries that were consistent with knife wounds.
