A central New Jersey day care worker faces a criminal charge stemming from the death of a two-month-old boy.
Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew Carey and Highland Park Police Chief Stephen Rizco announced late Friday that Tanya Choy faces one count of child endangerment.
Authorities say Choy was working at the Above and Beyond Child Care Center in Highland Park on Sept. 10 when police arrived to find the infant in distress. They rushed the boy to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy couldn't establish a cause of death but medical examiners say the boy's having been left unattended was a contributing factor.
Bail was set at $10,000 for the 36-year-old Choy, of Martinsville.
It wasn't immediately known if she'd retained an attorney.
