An emotional father is pleading for the safe return of his 22-year-old daughter who was plucked from a Germantown street late Sunday night.
"If anybody knows anything, please, just bring my daughter home." Carl Freeland begged. "I'll give it to you -- anything you want, I'll give it to you, just bring my daughter home."
Freeland's daughter Carlesha Freeland-Gaither was walking along the 100 block of W Coulter Street around 9:40 p.m. when witnesses say a man forced her into the backseat of a dark-colored four-door sedan.
"I heard a whole bunch of screaming,” said witness John Wayne. “She was screaming, 'help, help!'"
Freeland-Gaither struggled with the man before he forced her into the backseat and took off down Coulter Street, according to Wayne.
Investigators are combing the area for surveillance video in an effort to figure out exactly what happened to the young woman whose grandfather says does not hang out with "unsavory characters."
Freeland is doing his part to help locate his daughter by hanging flyers of the 5-foot-3-inch, 125-pound woman in the Germantown neighborhood where she was kidnapped.
