New Castle County police say a grand jury has indicted a 15-year-old boy in the fatal shooting last month of an 18-year-old man in Bear.
Sgt. Jacob Andrews says the boy was taken into custody Tuesday. He is charged with first degree murder, two weapons offenses and possession of drugs with intent to deliver.
The Associated Press generally does not publish the names of juveniles charged with crimes.
The youth is charged in the June 30 shooting of Dewayne Barfield of Newark.
Barfield was shot at the Sparrow Run Townhouses in Bear. Officers responding to a report of shots fired found him lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.
