One person is dead and another hurt after a blaze tore through a New Castle County apartment building early Sunday morning.
The 2-alarm blaze erupted around 2 a.m. at the Harbor House Apartments on Harbor Drive, in Claymont, Delaware, officials said.
An unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene, while rescuers rushed another person to a local hospital for treatment. The injured person's condition is unknown.
At least one resident escaped by climbing down a ladder, according to reports.
Crews got the blaze under control at 5:06 a.m. -- about three hours after they arrived on scene.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
