A driver stopped to help kids escape a burning home as the blaze spreading to several neighboring Philadelphia houses late Tuesday night.
Firefighters responded to reports of flames on the 3800 block of Park Avenue in the city's Hunting Park neighborhood around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday to find a fire spreading from one home to four others, according to officials.
About 60 firefighters used 17 pieces of equipment to contain the blaze, which damaged five homes and injured two men.
The victims were rushed to a local hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
Before crews arrived, Matthew Flores drove past the scene and rushed to help the residents escape.
"I just rode up, drove past," Flores said. "The porch on the corner was on fire."
"I had to help the other people get out," he continued. "I knocked on a few doors, helped some kids out the house. Anything a normal person would do."
