A Temple University law graduate student shot a Villanova graduate in Old City early Sunday morning.
Gerald Ung, 28, of South 43rd Street has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault after he shot Ed DiDonato Jr., 23, multiple times at 4th and Markets streets 2:30 a.m. Sunday, say police.
The two men got into an altercation prior to the shooting, police sources told NBC Philadelphia. That argument allegedly began after DiDonato was bumped while doing chin ups on scaffolding on the street, according to Fox29.
A Fox29 security camera caught the shooting on tape. Ung can be seen pulling out a gun on a group of people and when DiDonato rushed him, Ung shot him five times in the hand, chest and abdomen.
The victim was alert and talking to police when the ambulance arrived. He was transported to Jefferson University and was last listed in fair condition, according to police.
