The year got off to a deadly start in Philadelphia as two people were shot dead just hours into 2013.
The first homicide of 2013 happened around 12:30 a.m. when a 17-year-old boy was shot in the head after getting into an argument following a house party on the 5600 block of Carpenter Street in West Philadelphia, according to Philadelphia Police.
There were no suspects in that case, police said.
About two hours later an unidentified man was shot and killed along the 1600 block of Pratt Street in the Frankford section of the city.
Police say that itβs possible the homicide happened following a fight at Bridge Street and Frankford Avenue but the investigation continued.
Then, around 3 a.m. people were called to a house on the 1700 block of Venango Street in North Philadelphia for the report of a shooting. They found three victims shot and one of those people later died at the hospital, cops said.
Besides these three shooting deaths, a man was killed in a hit-and-run crash along City Avenue in Wynnefield Heights early Tuesday.
