Thousands Still Without Power Post-Sandy

Power restored to millions but thousands remain in the dark

Power is being restored across the area, post-Sandy. In some of the hardest-hit areas, progress moved slowly due to trees taking down wires. By Tuesday, more than a million customers who lost power, were back up and running in Pennsylvania alone.

PECO has restored power to about 99 percent of customers as of 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Delmarva has restored all power as of Friday.

AC Electric has restored power to all customers affected by Sandy whose premises could safely accept electric service. However, there are still around 5,000 customers who, because of extensive damage to their homes, can't accept electric service at this time. AC Electric will restore power to those homes once it is safet to do so.

PSE&G

  • By Tuesday, about 226,900 PSE&G customers were still without power. They hope to get the total amount of outages down to around 100,000 by Monday night.
