The Phillies have signed former New York Met Luis Castillo to a minor league contract.
Senior Vice President and General Manager Ruben Amaro made the announcement on Monday that the 35-year-old will report to camp as a non-roster invitee.
Castillo sat out some of last season due to a bruised right heal.
The second baseman has been in the majors for 15 years, making three All-Star teams and winning three Gold Glove awards, according to a press release.
